Abstract
In patients with chronic renal failure there is a reduction in renal mass and decreased renal function, which will cause problems in the physiological process of the kidney, especially in terms of excretion of residual substances, one of which uric acid. Increased uric acid levels in urine and serum (hyperuricemia) depend on renal function. Excessive amounts of uric acid are excreted through the urine. Uric acid can crystallize in the urinary tract in acidic urine, therefore effective renal function and alkaline urine conditions are necessary in the event of hyperuricemia. The purpose of this study is to know the description of uric acid levels in patients with chronic renal failure in patients who went to Gunung Tua Padang Lawas North Hospital, the study was conducted Gunung TuaPadang Lawas North Medical Hospital with the method used is "cross sectional study". From the results of research conducted on 20 samples obtained results increased uric acid levels 17 people with percentage of 85% and uric acid levels in the normal limit of 3 people with a percentage of 15%.
