Self-concept is an individual's attitude towards himself. Understanding of yourself will help individuals to form a positive self-concept. Positive self-concept in adolescents will form self-acceptance in adolescents, so that there is a connection between self-concept and smoking behavior in adolescents. One of the factors that influence smoking behavior is self-concept, which is the perspective of a teenager who is easily influenced by the environment and peers. This study aims to identify the relationship between self-concept and smoking behavior in adolescents in SMA Angkasa 1 Lanud Soewondo Medan. The research method used a cross sectional study design. Sampling using purposive sampling, with a sample size of 60 respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire sheet. Data analysis was done through fisher exact test with p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05). It can be concluded that there is a relationship between self-concept and smoking behavior in adolescents at SMA Angkasa 1 Lanud Soewondo Medan. It is hoped that adolescents will be able to maintain a positive self-concept so that they are not easily influenced by friends and the environment.
