Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by chronic disturbances, especially in the metabolic system of carbohydrates, lipids and proteins. Proteinuria is the presence of protein in the human body that exceeds its normal value, namely 150 mg / 24 hours or in children more than 140 mg / 24 hours. This study with the title of examination of urine protein with acetic acid method in diabetes mellitus patients with positive glucosuria. The purpose of this study was to determine and determine the presence of urine protein in diabetes mellitus patients treated at Syafira Hospital Pekanbaru in 2018. This type of research is cross-sectional descriptive. The population in this study were all 20 patients with diabetes mellitus aged 45-69 years who were taken as samples. Based on the results obtained from the study as much as 65% positive urine protein, and 35% negative urine protein. The conclusion from the results of research conducted as many as 20 samples obtained only 13 people who experienced proteinuria.
